they expect this to be packed with pedestrians. so, where to put the bicyclists? city officials are going to try a novel idea. northbound lane on the embarcadero closed down, just for bicyclists. they think it is good because they want to keep them often sidewalk away from the pedestrians. there are -- there are signs around the embarcadero flashing now warning people of how crowded it is going to be. the plan for the bicyclists has not been widely publicized this is a new idea. they are going to shutdown a lane between bay and washington starting tomorrow. really, the message is, just don't even try to drive a car down here on the embarcadero this weekend. the elite flight team will take to the skies saturday and sunday afternoon. some of the pilots say san francisco is one of their favorite cities to fly over. they ever a big event not necessarily the main event. they will be sharing the stage the america's cup semi finals sailing competition is expected to attract huge crowds especially down at marina green. then don't forget about the giants' playoff game tomorrow. crowds on the

in this case. this latest death as oakland pleets are getting help from the chp to help patrol city streets. >> oakland seeing crime rate skyrocket and homicide rate is 20% higher than it was last year. it's not surprising that the city has called for reenforcements. the city announced cal patrol and sheriff's department will begin helping patrol oakland starting next week. the police department has been under staffed, overworked and outnumbed. the city has been asking for help for the past few weeks and now the governor has authorized the chp to patrol streets. specifics have not been worked out, nor has funding. but the mayor says money is available and police chief admits he needs help. >> as long as they can be here, we can afford them. what i'm asking the sheriff to do is for a 90 day operation, then, reassess. >> i can afford some level of cooperation until my police amad kad mys turn out more officers. >> that may not happen until sometime next year. >> just moments ago police told us there has been an arrest in the arson fire in the law offices of ozzy davis. the latest of w

a breathing tube. good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> i'm carolyn johnson of the the fame has -- carolyn johnson. the family has close ties to the bay area. they lived in san francisco for years. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has the story. >> new york city detectives have not figured out why a nanny would have violently stabbed two young cr care, but h her care, but they are thousand saying the 50-year-old woman may have been having financial problems and recently sought psychological help. the disturbing murder of two children in this manhattan apart meant building sent shock waves across the country of the she returned home to find two of her children stabbed to death in a bath to be. two-year-old leo and six-year-old lucia killed by their nanny. and then she started stabbing herself when the mother walked in. she was later wheeled away on a stretcher. >> on the floor of the bathroom is the nanny who apparently inflicted wounds on her throat. >> reporter: they recently moved to new york from san francisco. their former neighbors are shocked to hear of the tragedy. >> i remember that he had gotten a job. they were going to move to new york. >> reporter: this is a neighborhood of lots of young families with children. many with nannies of their own
